W7 r1 fail :(
Feel so despondent last run was for 25 mins today only managed 15 and legs felt weak and just couldn't push myself to keep running don't know what's different today

Re: W7 r1 fail :(
Hi Chrissy,
Running really has its ups and downs. I do half-marathons these days. Mostly I get out the door and run just fine, but I still have off-days where nothing seems to work properly and I feel slow as treacle and want to stop the whole time. It can be all sorts of things -- what food you've eaten recently, how good your last night's sleep was, what the weather's like, how cheerful you're feeling in general, your exact health level right now, and a hundred other things. These all combine, and sometimes a run just feels a bit rubbish.
The good news: as I've got more miles under my belt, the bad days have come along less often, and I've got better at dealing with them... The best thing to do is to put today's run behind you, take a rest day, and then try it again. If you still can't make it, back off to the beginning of Week 6 and do it again. Plenty of people repeat a week, or two, or three on the way to the 5K.
(In Get Running, you can go back a week by tapping on the previous week in the "Progress Path" at the bottom of the screen. Then when you hit "Run" you'll be asked if you want to skip backwards to that week.)
The better news: Sometimes all those things I mentioned combine to make a really *good* run, where you get out the door and go twice as far as you were going to just because it feels great. Honest!
Cheers,
Matt

Thanks Matt, felt really fed up when I'd gotten in but been washed out as been mega busy at work of late so think that's the cause gonna take a break and start this week afresh

Re: W7 r1 fail :(
I know exactly what you mean. My days seem to be up and down at the moment one day good and the next bad. I've just finished week 9 and am going to keep on at the 30 min runs for a while to increase my speed so I can cover more distance.
Keep it up I'm sure your next run will be a good one!

Re: W7 r1 fail :(
I've had days where I just didn't feel like I could do this, too. But I agree with Matt, there have been a few days when I feel like I could run forever! I'll admit I've only had a few of those runs, but I'm sure there will be more. Day 1 of week 9 for me was horrible! I made it through, but I was sluggish. It was hot and I had too much on my mind. Tomorrow is day 2 of week 9 and I'm looking forward to it!
You just keep running! You will make it!
