In love with running again
Hi all just thought I'd share my little story! just completed run 2 week 2 last night and felt so good at the end I just carried on running for the warm down (re did the run down at the end).
Love the app as it's made me fall in love with running again, the goals it sets are very do able and sensible and find it very motivating. Use to run for fun when I was young, long distance, cross country and sprints but then found the joy of all those things that are bad for you and stopped.
Have tried over the years to start up but never really had the drive to do so until now. It's helped by the fact that I've hit some sort of mid life crisis that made me take notice that I'm drinking and eating myself to an early grave.
So beginning of August set myself a target to get active and healthy and to get my weight down from 16 stone to 13 in time for my 43rd birthday in November. I've been swimming and exercising since (and of course eating well) and then 2 weeks ago found this app and although it's only earlier days I'm already a stone and half lighter and really motivated to carry on and on. Wake up in the morning excited at the prospect of running all thanks to this great app.

Re: In love with running again
Did wk3r1 today in the pouring rain and howling wind and despite the lousy weather and feeling really cold during the 5min warm up it went great. I saw today as the first great test in regards to my comitment and passed it and even enjoyed it. Yes it would of been easy to stay in warm and dry but feel really positive for not taking the easy option. Even so hope it stops raining for r2.

Ah yes, I went out this morning too in the miserable rain and wind! It was freezing but I felt pretty smug afterwards - as you say, it's a good test of commitment!

Just finished w3 now have a 2 day rest period before I begin w4. Love the app still and I'm also really starting to appreciate the importance of stretch exercises now as well. Had sore shins after w3 r2, so I gave my self a couple of opportunities to do some stretch routines on the day off and before and after r2 & r3 and as a result no pain after todays run. I now plan to carry on with the stretch exercise's on days off as it appears to help.

Re: In love with running again
Just finished the last run of week 4 and to be honest it wasn't to bad but it was certainly the hardest week yet! I now have that 20 min run to look forward to next week at the end of week 5. Not sure if I'll be ready for it but I'll give it a good go. I think my body will cope with it and if I can keep the negative thoughts out of my head I should make it.

Re: In love with running again
Well thats w5 r2 done now a day of rest and then the 20min one on Friday!
Have to admit this time last week was a bit worried about it, but after the first 2 runs of w5 I'm feeling really confident.
Have to admit week 5 is not as hard as i thought it would be and thats because week 1 through to 4 does a good job of building up your stamina. Once again it's a great app!

Good luck with your 20 minute run! I'm just finishing week 4 tomorrow, quite excited for week 5 now (though I'm still nervous about the 20 minuter)

Good luck with your 20 minute run! Good or bad let us know how it goes, with my new shoes and the cooler weather in Florida, I'm wishing I could run every day!
