Feeling pretty chuffed! Last time I posted (under 'W3 And I thought things were going so well...') I had just completed W3 and was thinking about repeating a couple of the W3 runs as the final run had felt pretty tough and I wanted to build my confidence. Anyway, I did one repeat of a W3 run and definitely found it a little easier and, because it made the week finish 'neatly' (it was a Friday and I could follow with the 2 day rest period) I completed a second repeat run of a W3 run and it went brilliantly! Right from the second run, I just knew for certain that I could do it. There was no doubt in my mind and in fact I felt I could run a little further (which I didn't!).
So, today was my first run of W4. Having found achieving the 3 minute runs of last week pretty tough, I was a little anxious. However, there was no need!

As I finished my 5 min warm up walk, I was feeling a little concerned as I didn't feel 100%, however, as I got into the first 3 min run, I found it easy. I am reluctant to use the word 'easy' (don't want to sound too full of myself) but it was! This gave me a real boost as I went into the 5 min run and, although it was not easy, I just felt that I knew I could achieve it. By the end of the last 5 min run, my legs were feeling pretty heavy but I did it!

So pleased! I should add however, I ran ALL the runs at a slow jog as opposed to a run........... However, I feel if I can just achieve some stamina, I can work on speed later.
So - feeling confident about the rest of this W4 but find it very hard to imagine running the 20 mins that is expected of me in less than two weeks................

still, I will worry about that later. One day at a time....
