Hydration

Post by Timl2k10 »

Perhaps this is a problem unique to running in a subtropical climate, but I am finding that it can take over a day to rehydrate myself after a run. I often feel dehydrated after a run and the next day too. I'm drinking a lot of water, though I don't drink during runs, but I am sure to drink a lot before the run. Anyone else have this problem?

Hmm, that sounds annoying. Not a problem I encounter, living up in permanently cold, rainy Scotland! But all the advice I've heard about hydration says to make sure you drink lots the day before you run, so I guess keep doing that... also maybe look at the food you're eating? If you're eating, say, salty things like crackers or chips, then that might stop your body rehydrating properly, so you could swap them for more juicy fruits and veg as they contain a lot of water. Or try drinking those special sports rehydration drinks?
