So this week I had done two 30 minute runs. I wasn't looking forward to a 3rd it just seemed boring, I need a new goal or activity to motivate myself. So what do I do? 35 minutes? Intervals? I wanted to work on speed so I could do a 5k in 30 minutes. I had earlier plotted my eventual 5k route. The weather this morning was beautiful for Florida, in the lower 40's. I guess that's about 6° centigrade. So I decided, what the heck, lets just give the 5k route a shot. I guess my body is getting used to this, because not only did I complete the 5k, I set a new PR for pace! No shin splints, no pain at all really to complain about. Just wondering, if I sweat when it is 40 degrees, god help me when summer comes! That will take some real dedication! http://runkeeper.com/user/timl2k12/activity/132911636
I call my route the "Fairway 5k" since golf courses all around. Not an official race, but very rewarding nonetheless!
