Hi Charley - I know what you are going through! I had to skip my run last night for the first time because we had freezing rain. It would be like going ice skating! It DOES feel like runner cabin fever! Just taking out the trash I almost broke my neck sliding down the stairs. And I was so ready to go running. It snowed today night so perhaps there is enough snow to go running tonight. If I stop now the bad side of me might win and get me back to sitting on the couch permanently.

Nicola - Beach?? I bet it is a workout - but from where I am at - looking at frozen rain - it sounds great

Hi kaybee, the frozen rain was falling on the beach too but obviously not sticking, although it did keep me cool though,
Anyone else felt like repeating W3, just finished it and have to say I don't feel prepared enough to jump up to 5min runs, today I was willing my lovely coach to say only 10 seconds more left to run!

I bought my first piece of running equipment today...a reflective vest, since i mostly run in the dark. My husband laughed and said i looked like one of those people picking up trash on the side of the highway...haha..i was so exited about wearing it...i just coudnt tell him i put it on inside out and the relective part was not even facing outward....ROFL!!!   I figured it out on the cool down and switched it before i walked in the house...im a geek!!! Hope all are doing well...let me know!

Hi altegolilly, wow, I'm impressed you made it and it didn't seem too bad, I'm currently on rest days and supposed to start on Thursday but that would be after my first night shift so I may go tomorrow weather permitting. It is currently snowing heavy again but living in Wales uk you get used to wet weather lol. To be honest I enjoy running in the cold and wet weather as it cools me down, I'm dreading running in the summer when it's warmer, I think I'll over cook!!!

altegolibby,
I was checking to hear how week four is going from someone.
week three seems to be the last respite before the storm.
W3D1 felt easy, I could have done three repeats instead of two,
however, I was glad each time the three mintues ended. So I really worry
about the longer stretches that are coming up. You make it sound
doable ;)

I haven't run for a whole week now :(
I miss it so much!
The paths are sooooo icy still and with freezing fog now settled for the night I'm definitely not going out again yet.
I've got my fingers crossed for tomorrow evening!
Sounds like you're all doing so well!
Keep going!

Reading your posts made me feel better. We have a lot of snow in Wales at the mo so I have not been able to run for a few days. I have gone out for long walks instead but miss the running. I'll try and pick up where I left off (W1R3) and carry on with W2. I was so looking forward to seeing that first week ticked off.
Still, this weather can't last, can it? I have been unable to drive to a gym.
Right, let's keep positive! We'll be back on track soon! Good luck everyone!

Here it is cold, the snow has turned to mud. I guess, we're lucky because it is not raining and the roads aren't frozen anymore. Did W3R2 today and tried to go a little faster than before. That was the hardest run yet. I am a bit worried because it is definitely picking up!! Three min. seem pretty long - how will I do 5 next week??? Well - I'll just trust the training plan.

w4r2 done!!! My body feels like lead but I did it. Knees still hurt. I think my pace slowed a bit on the way home because I was a block from where I started. We still have beautiful weather, about 65F and very clear, bright moon and twinking stars. Wish y'all were here instead in the snow. Let me know how yall do. Keep at it! :D
