Get Running app not working
Re: Get Running app not working
I have a similar problem since yesterday. I did one of the runs with RunKeeper because i wanted to measure my speed. When i came home i opened Getrunning to manually complete that workout. This morning when i opened Getrunning, it went straight to the last run and then to a browser window to make a Twitter update.
This has happened a few times. Should i also reinstall? I have an iPod 3G. ios 3.1.2.

Re: Get Running app not working
I'm having the same problem--it started yesterday. Every time I open the app, it flashes a screen that says "30 minutes of activity" or something like that, then goes straight to the Twitter app to update. Is re-installing my only option?

That's what mine is doing but going to FB (not Twitter).ad44 wrote:I'm having the same problem--it started yesterday. Okay so I've deleted the app and have gone back into the App Store to find it - so I have to pay for it again now??? I've never deleted an app before only to want it again later. I don't really want to pay for it again! Not that it costs much (it's actually cheaper than the first time I bought it).benjohn wrote:I think that the only way you will now be able to fix this (if it is still happening) is to delete the App and reinstall.
You know it's weird, it actually went funny after I synced my phone to the laptop. Coincidence maybe?
Re: Get Running app not working

You definitely do not have to buy the App again though! Don't worry!
Once you have deleted the App, if you press Buy in iTunes (assuming you are using the same iTunes account), iTunes will check and find that you already own the App. It will ask if you want to download it again for free. Just confirm that you do, and it will be installed again.
Sorry again for the problems here.
(We're running a sale at the moment, by the way, but will go back to the full price on Thursday I think…)

Sorry ad44, and thanks for letting me know.ad44 wrote:I'm having the same problem--it started yesterday. Every time I open the app, it flashes a screen that says "30 minutes of activity" or something like that, then goes straight to the Twitter app to update. Is re-installing my only option?
Could you let me know your device (iPhone or iPod, and which generation) and the version of iOS you are using? It'll help me to sort it out!
Thanks again everyone, I'll try to get this sorted as soon as I can.
Re: Get Running app not working
I was checking a reply I wrote before, and realised I wasn't very clear about this questions…
With iOS 4, because you have a 3Gs, you'll get multitasking. Multitasking will let you use lots of Apps at the same time. In particular, you can use a GPS tracking App such as Run Keeper (there are a lots of them) and Get Running at the same time.
Thanks, Benjohn
Yes!Feelo wrote:Do you mean with the iOS 4 Software Update you can use Run Keeper along with Get Running? My husband uses Run Keeper on his 3G (but not the Get Running app).

Re: Get Running app not working
Thanks Benjohn. I've just added the app again.
So when I go to run this week, I'll just slide along to Week 4 and hit "run".
Shall I just leave the other runs unmarked? Or should I go and press "run" for each one so they appear complete? I guess it doesn't really matter.
And thanks for explaining about the iOS 4 update. I think multitasking does sound great. I might have to give the upgrade a go (just hope it doesn't make everything run slow like it has for a few friends of mine).

Re: Get Running app not working
Hi All,
I believe I've tracked this bug down. It affects anyone using the latest version of Get Running, on a device and operating system combination that doesn't have Multi-tasking, who uses an external App for their status updates.
So – if you're using OS 4 and you have an iPhone 3Gs or iPhone 4 or iPod touch 3rd Gen, you're okay. Otherwise, please avoid using external status update Apps until I patch this.
I'd very much appreciate help with testing a fix to this as there is no way for me to test on any of my machines as they are all using iOS 4 and it's not possible to go back to an earlier version!
If you'd be happy to test a Beta, please get in touch by email and I'll tell you what you need to do next. Email me at beta@splendid-things.co.uk
The Beta won't interfere with your normal Get Running – it will be a separate application that doesn't share data with the normal Get Running, so there's no risk in testing it

Slide to week four and then touch it to select it. At the top of the screen you'll see a description of week four's runs. Then touch Run and you're off!Feelo wrote:So when I go to run this week, I'll just slide along to Week 4 and hit "run".
It's up to youFeelo wrote:Shall I just leave the other runs unmarked? Or should I go and press "run" for each one so they appear complete? I guess it doesn't really matter. But do avoid external update twitter apps if you're not multitasking!

Re: Get Running app not working
Quick update – I've submitted a fix for this problem and asked Apple to get it out as soon as possible.
Thanks for all your help tracking it down!
