W3R1

Post by bex17 »

Ive been dreading this week with a passion as the first couple of weeks have been hard, but I did it!!!! So pleased with myself :D
I ended up changing back to my old trainers as my lovely new ones seem to bring on shin splints so tonight was really so much better.
The only downside was my knees were really sore and it slowed me right down (usually the pace of a snail anyway so you can imagine how much slower  )
I wasnt sure if youre sposed to power thru discomfort like that or stop?
Ive already had a 2 day rest from the last run so not sure what to do next. Praps I should get some knee supports?
Any input gratefully recieved :)

I just try to run through any pain. It usually let's up as I work out my muscles. Don't look ahead to future runs- ever!! Just do it. They do get easier to manage, I'm on week 5 and I can't believe it! Great job and keep running!!

Im amazed Ive got this far to be honest but chuffed that Ive just completed week 3. I think I may repeat it as 2 of the runs I did in the gym so not quite true. Ive not been feeling brill since yesterday so will go easy on tomorrows run. :D I feel Ive achieved so much already, but I need to stop beating myself up when I cant do stuff as quickly as Id like :D
