Running Recommendations

Post by starknut »

I thought it would be neat to have a thread where you can recommend products or tricks that help you run your best. It would be a big help for the newbies, especially, but those with more experience also sometimes need a hand, too!

My recommendation is for the ladies. You need a good sports bra. You NEED it. You may think the bra you have is doing a fine job - I thought so, too! - but once you get a proper running bra, the difference is night and day. Gap's high impact sports bra is my favorite: it's not too expensive, but still totally worth it. This joker is like an orthopedic brace, there is no stretch at all. It's fabulous! Not to be vulgar, but my butt moves around more than my chest with one of these. I cannot recommend them enough!

What a fab topic, agree with the bra comment although I use shock absorber running bra.
My recommendation would be to invest in some body glide/vasaline. I never had a problem with chaffing until I upped my mileage! After finishing my first ever 6.1miles jog/walk I was so pleased with myself, until I jumped into a half filled bath and expanded my lungs ten fold. Didn't even feel anything up until that point!! so now I grease certain areas even on a short run :-) prevention is better than cure ;-)
