Cadence Running

Post by ColinD69 »

So....now that I have managed the dreaded 20 minute Week 5 Run 3 (which really wasn't so bad after all) I decided to try the whole chi / cadence running. It effectively states that the optimum stride count should be 3 per second or 180 steps per minute!! You take faster shorter strides than you are probably used to, but blow me it WORKS!!! I have a metronome app on my iPhone and set it for 180bpm...everytime it clicks my foot hits the ground. Once I got used to the faster steps it has helped tremendously!! I can now run 25 minutes (2.6 miles) non stop far easier! Look up Chi Running on YouTube and give it a wee bash! It might just help...you never know! :) Stay safe and cool runnings :)
