Week 3, run 1
Week 3, run 1
Went better than expected.....knees are still killing me, I should probably buy stock in Tylenol, looking forward to running tomorrow!
Re: Week 3, run 1
Hi Oj,
You're doing good! I'm a bit worried about your knees though – I pretty much advise not running through pain because your body is trying to tell you something.
Are you able to see a physio, or if you are in a gym, can you talk to the staff there? A GP might also be able to help or give some advice.
Another option is to go by a good running shop where the assistants and sales staff are actually runners. They might advise shoes that will correct an issue with your gait, and this could well help a great deal.
Anyway – I hope you'll be able to sort it out!
Happy running,
Benjohn

Re: Week 3, run 1
Thanks Benjohn, awesome app,
I've changed the location of my runs from a trail where I was running mostly uphill, to a track, the run that did my knees in was on the uphill trail and I was pushing myself pretty hard, the track is so much easier than running up that damn hill, and I've learned to take it a bit easier, my knees still hurt but not as bad.....and they don't hurt at all when I'm running, I'm gonna finish week three today and rest until Sunday, then see how I feel, if not better by then I will see my Dr. about it.
Other than the knees I can't believe how great I feel, I've had serious back problems for over fifteen years.....it's feeling much better now, even my tendinitis in my elbow feels better, must be blood flow + oxygen or something, I don't know but I like it!
Oh, and I'm running in Five Finger's and loving them, I ran week one in my old running shoes and my feet were hurting quite a bit, but not any more.
Thanks again for the app Benjohn, it's changing my life.....I actually called myself a runner the other day!
