Help, can't get past week 7

Post by Vonnie88 »

I have just returned from my 25 min run week 7, but really struggling. I have had to repeat the run about 3 times because I only just make it each time, and feel I have reached my limit and can't go any further. Has anyone else had this problem? Any words of advice? I absolutely love the app and can't believe I have come so far in a couple of weeks but would love to keep improving.

When you're repeating run 7, are you finding that you are covering a greater distance each time or staying about the same?

I've certainly found that I feel as if I've reached my limit every time I run - yet somehow I manage it...just...I would be inclined to give it a go, but start off really, really slowly and don't worry about covering even the same distance as in your 25 minute run. If you start off more slowly, you might find that you just about have enough in reserve to make the 28 minutes.

Whatever you decide, all the best - and even if you decide to stick on week 7, well hey, that's still 25 minutes continuous running, which is an amazing achievement in itself anyway!

Hey I finished the programme a few weeks back now and "only just made it" at every run! I still went on to the next. Don't worry, it's not a race, you're not in competition, its purely for your level of fitness and for you to enjoy running. Just do week 8 you will be surprised how tagging on the extra 3 minutes is nowhere near as bad as you think it might be. Week 5 has the biggest jump in minutes and if you can go from an 8 minute run to 20 then 3 minutes is achievable!
Good luck and happy running!
