5k!!!!!!
5k!!!!!!
I'm over the moon. I just ran a little over 5k in around 32 minutes. I know I'm not supposed to yet (w8r1), but I couldn't resist. Just 2 mins to shave off the time over the last two weeks and I'll be doing a 30min 5k! I can't believe I can actually run for 5k non stop. What an amazing feeling.
PS. Burger and taco chips the night before a run not a really good idea. ;-/

Nice one Ian. It's a great feeling. I'm sure Coach Claire is also very proud of you

Re: 5k!!!!!!
Fantastic, well done! Don't worry about doing it 'before the time' - the important thing is that you've done it!
Are you ready to run in a race yet? This http://www.poppy-run.com/ 5k race is taking place on Sunday across the country - join me in my first race!

Re: 5k!!!!!!
It looks like my first 5k race will be September. (jingle bells 5k in Dublin). No poppy races here. Very few 5k events in general as far as i can see. Doing the Dublin marathon on Monday. That was my whole reason for starting this. I will be walking of course, but a few weeks ago I couldnt have walked that far. I'll run it next year now that I'm enjoying running. I'm looking forward to an improvement in my running again because I had a really hard session today.
