Today was a big day for me, so I thought that I'd share a bit about myself to let you know how amazing this program is - and know that you can do it!
I'm a 48 yr. old woman who weighs 218lbs(about 15.5 stone), who hasn't been athletic for about 35 yrs. Just to make it more challenging, I smoke.
After hearing that a few people I know had run a 5k after trying this program, and thinking that they weren't people I'd generally think of as "fit", I decided to give this program a try.
I thought that the first week would kill me. Those 1 minute runs constituted 1 minute more than I'd run in decades. Today, I ran W8R2 and made it for 2 miles (3.2K). I have felt so good this week that I've gone a bit over the prescribed 28 minute runs to finally reach this milestone (pun intended). As the slowest runner on the planet, it took me 34 minutes.
So here is the thing: If you're aging, or overweight, or generally sedentary, or smoke, or any number of things that cause you to be afraid that you can't succeed ...you can do this program. I'm living proof of it.
I encourage you to check out links that people share and to share your stories here. Buy good shoes, stretch, and have fun. This experience will change your life.
My best - Shari, St Paul, Minnesota, USA

Well done! If only more people would have this realisation perhaps we'd be a fitter, healthier world!
