I completed my first day with the program and I feel great! I am committed to becoming a runner and running. 5k marathon along with my boyfriend. I also have some weight to lose about 15 to 20 pounds and a whole lot of fat to lose as well! I waiver around 170 now, having gained about the same over the last few years after doing LA Weight Loss. I see running as a great way to get cardio in to help with my weight loss and as a way to keep up with my boyfriend. Every time I run with him I get so out of breath, making me realize how out of shape I am and I can not be upstaged like that, so I will train myself independently so that I can start to keep up.
Looking forward to keeping youball posted! Any recommendations forbabfirst timer are welcomed.

Re: Day 1.
My only recommendation to you is don't be disappointed if the numbers on the scale don't budge. It doesn't mean anything! I weigh the same as when I started, but I fit into my old jeans again. You'll lose fat, but maybe not weight.

Hi!
This is a first for me as well as others! I am Dawnthenurse and a first time runner who lives in Maryland on the chesapeake bay. My son (17) is a runner and has a runners body, which lol he DID NOT get from me. I am the short jiggly type. But here I am anyway trying my lil heart out. I did my first run today and am relieved to hear I am about par. I could stand to lose about 10 lbs but that is not why I am doing this. I just want to be healthier bottom line. I want that endurance and stress outlett that seems to come with running. So fingers crossed because I am the queen of excuses! One of my work friends suggested this and so far I am very encouraged.
I am loving all the blogs on here and tips...keep em coming!

Re: Day 1.
Well it is now june11th and I am STILL trying to "achieve" week three. Lol!! Any one else out there having this issue? I got my sister to join me as a running buddy which has been interesting and good at times. And for some reason 3 min seems like FOREVER when Im trying to run it. I plan on push through it but could use some ideas.
Another thing is, I live here in MD on the bay, which is very humid. So I have discovered that I can not manage a reasonable run if temp is above 80. I even tried running at sunset which was great but REALLY funny if you could have seen me. Because it was dark by the time I made it half way. I was being chased by my own shadows! And squealing at every step that echoed or every dog bark within 1/2 a mile radius. Have you every tried to run and squeal ?!
Having fun and running my butt off!
