Started running 3 weeks ago, so should technically be on week 3. Attempted run 1 week 3 but couldn't make it past 2 minutes of running. so decided not to be put off and redo all of week 2. Supposed to run tonight but am thinking of putting it off till tomorrow.
Now I know I am unfit, but I ache CONSTANTLY. It's unrelenting. I have problems with my joints anyway, so knees are playing up. Have something called hypermobile joints where I over stretch without realising. But still...should I really ache this much?
I drink loads each day. I am on a diet so I'd say I'm eating enough, I do walk my dog on rest days but 2/3 miles of walking each day is nothing new.
Do I push on, or take a break?
If you are consistently hurting so much that it's too hard for you to complete your runs, please take a rest! Some achiness is to be expected, but not every day, and joints aching is entirely different than muscles being sore after a workout. See your doctor, if you can, to at least rule out any stress fractures or other injuries.
“Suddenly, I was part of something. I was part of the running community. The more open I was about my running, the more open others were about theirs. I found out that runners love to talk about running.”
