I don't think I could complete a run without Kelly Clarkson's what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Also downloaded Amelia Lily's new one...even though once telling myself I'd never buy X factor songs...I love it for running. Plus some Muse and Killers and Kate Bush's Running up that Hill!
Calvin Harris, Rihanna, and anything with a dancey beat are really good for me, even though they're not the sort of thing I'd listen to while I'm not running.
I actually find things with a slower beat work for me as I'm a really slow runner (getting faster) and as a music teacher I tend to match the beat quite accurately and if I put on something too upbeat my pacing goes to pot. Oddly I find Rachmaninov and Chopin work well for me but I'm just weird
I'm not really into rap but this song really gets me pumped! It's upbeat, high energy, and the first lyric is... "You might not wanna jog on this one!" Haha!
Fort Minor - Remember the Name
Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger
LMFAO - Sexy and I Know it
House of Pain - Jump Around
Ram Jam - Black Betty
Lady Gaga - Just dance
Linkin Park - Bleed it out
Matchbox twenty - How far we've come (good "finishing" song)
“Suddenly, I was part of something. I was part of the running community. The more open I was about my running, the more open others were about theirs. I found out that runners love to talk about running.”
